Poble Espagnyol is a theme park village on the outskirts of Palma. It’s fascinating. They have reproduced (down to the finest detail) famous buildings from Spain’s major cities like Cordoba, Toledo, Madrid and Granada. Coming here is like going on a brief tour through Spain’s architectural past, from its early Muslims beginnings right up to the present day. There’s a superb reproduction of the salon, baths and patio from the Alhambra Palace. It’s worth coming to the village to see this alone.
Scattered throughout the village you’ll see artists giving displays of handicrafts in workshops.
Poble Espagnyol is a great place to spend the afternoon with the kids, especially if it’s not a day for the beach.
After seeing the sights you can just chill out, have a beer and some Spanish tapas in Plaza Mayor or sit outside in a cafe, watching people buy pearls and souvenirs at the local village shops.
