S'Arenal also known as “Platja de Palma” is 4,600m long and 50m wide. It’s located between Palma and Llucmajor.
S'Arenal has a beautiful promenade that runs the entire length of the beach. It’s lined with open-air bars called “balnearis”. They’re extremely popular, especially in summer. One of the best is bar 6.
This was once home to the largest dune systems on Mallorca, before they constructed the S'Arenal tourist resort. The destruction of the dunes has caused serious problems with sand regeneration.
Nevertheless, this is still a very popular beach. During the summer, it’s jam-packed with holiday-makers (mostly German) enjoying their holidays at the resort’s hotels.
S'Arenal is well equipped with; showers; sun loungers, parasols; plenty of restaurants, bars and shops; and volleyball nets, etc…
You can also hire pedal boats and sailboards here and go water skiing.
