Parc de la Mar (park of the sea) is a very popular weekend and summer spot. Its got several cafes, holds regular outdoor concerts and has an art gallery in the vaults of the old city walls.

Up until the 1960s the sea used to reach up to the city walls, providing the perfect reflection for the cathedral. When the new road was built, all this changed, so an artificial lake was constructed to reproduce the effect.

This is a truly delightful spot. You could spend all day here just sitting beneath the palm trees gazing up at the magnificent cathedral and imagining all the travellers (in their boats) who did the same many years before you.
